Summary

Seven-year-old Kayla has been having a hard time connecting with the Chinese side of her heritage growing up in the Unidted States. Kayla dreasm of being a singer and her American father supports that dream. After a misunderstanding with her Chinese grandmother, Kayla's mother decides to take her to China so she can experience the culture. While she is away, her father unexpectedly dies on a mission for the Unted States. Kayla's dreams of becoming a singer are dashed, but she uses her beautiful voice to inspire others around her
